Navajo Math Circles follows Navajo students from the underserved education system of the Navajo Nation as they collaborate with some of the country’s most accomplished mathematicians on a new approach to improving mathematical skills.
This one-hour documentary film invites viewers into the lives of children and teachers who use a model called math circles to emphasize student-centered learning.
There will be a Q&A after the film with Dr. Hugo Rossi, founding director of the Center for Science and Mathematics Education at the University of Utah, who served as technical director to George Csicsery during the making of Navajo Math Circles.
